There is a resister you cut out on the control circuit. Been a long time but I believe it is R 22

Not for daily use no. It will "burb" down to .7 ohm though.

What would this amp do at 14.4v or having 15.5v setup on tap? also does it have 1/0awg inputs?

The amp has dual 4 awg inputs, they are pretty big though it may be possible to put 1/0 in there. I used 4 awg. I don't know wattage #'s, but going from a 12v system to a 16v system (one vr2000d on two stroker 18's) was a 1.4 db gain.
