Is this 3000 watt amp a 2 channel? It has 2 pairs of speaker outputs??? I am wanting to wire my 4) dual 4 ohm type r 12's to .5 ohms how am I going to do it?

Most mono blocks have 2 sets of outputs for ease of wiring.

There are 2 pairs of speaker outputs for convenience of connecting multiple leads from the woofers directly to the amplifier easily.

The amp is a monoblock.

So how would I wire my 4 subs? Do for each output or all 4 to 1?

You can wire all for internally inside the enclosure and send just one pair of leads to the amp, or wire 2 subs at 1 ohm together, and send two pairs of leads to the amp, one pair of leads for each pair of subs.

Yup yup each pair of subs parallel as in pos to pos, neg to neg at 1ohm. Then run to amp speaker output. Beat away buddy!! :lmao:

I don't get it.... If I wire each pair of subs at 1 ohm then run each pair to each pair of outputs. Want the amp see a 2 ohm load????

it will be .5 at the amp pal

2 1ohm into the amp = .5 ohms?

Its gonna be at 0.5 bc the 3k is mono that have two subs output which connected as one. Those sometime come in handy buddy.

It's just to make it easier to wire. Read the manual on the amp and it makes complete sense. That way you aren't like doubling up connections on terminals etc. Basically if you had 2 dual 2 subs and run them as 1 ohm to each input, the amp basically bridges it inside, and gives you the final load as .5 ohm.

This is still weird how you can put 2 1 ohm connections and the Amp sees a .5 final load.

You want an easy way to figure out your final ohmload man? Remember, you're DIVIDING, not multiplying.

Take the final ohmload of the subwoofer and divide it by number of woofers

For example, 4 2ohm woofers(This is your scenario. A dual 4ohm woofer wired down will yield a 2ohm final load per woofer). 4 will go into 2 0.5 times.

Three 4ohm woofers is 4(ohmload) divided by 3(number of woofers) which is 1.33

Make sense? That's the easiest way to see things...

I know about the Wiring. I'm asking how you can take 2 subs with a final 1 ohm load and put in the left speaker outputs then take 2 more subs with a final 1 ohm load to the right set of inputs. How does the amp see a .5 ohm load internally?

The amplifier is internally bridged.

Think of it this way, your subs are Dual 4ohm per coil, right? When you connect the + and the -'s together, it sees 2ohms, right?

Inside of the amplifier, the + and the - come together into one. Its the same concept pretty much.

Think about it dude, cmon haha

The amp is BRIDGED INSIDE.

Okay, when you see the two sets of + and -, you think of 2 different channels, right?

Fact of the matter is, it's 1 channel, it's just divided so that you can wire everything up more easily(if you're wiring a ton of subs)

You can use both sets or just one, inside of the case the two sets of terminals combine into one, they're the same power and ground rail inside of the amp, the second set is ONLY there to make wiring easier for you.

If you're not getting all of this, wire all of the subs together outside of the amplifier and just use one terminal

this. the other terminals are there for ease of wiring ONLY. If not, some people would have 2-3 wires coming out of one terminal!
