6) Sub/port placement: Whatever is loudest
7) Max dimensions: No Clue
8) Desired NET vol and tuning(optional): Low as possible without screwing it up.
9) Finnish: Carpet
10) Zip code for shipping: 65201
11) Additional comments:

Wanting one built and sent to me, money no object, so if there is a way to make it louder/sound better for extra cash, willing to pay it.

As far as dimensions, I want it to be able to be inserted into most trunks. I don't know the exact dimensions for an Altima trunk opening, or a Grand Prix trunk opening but they're all pretty similar. I think the recommended or optimal volume for a single 12" XXX is around 3 cubes, so whatever would fit into most cars with decent sized trunks would be best.

I could have a local shop build the box, but every time they've built a box for me, they use tiny slot ports without much port area, and it's usually only slightly louder than a sealed box of the same volume. They're using some fosgate program to figure out the best box, but I don't think it works too well IMO. The bonus to them is that they build solid basic boxes, but they charge 200$ for it, but I would rather pay more to have someone with knowledge of the sub make a more specialized box for it. Got 3 of these subs too, and an extra 12" critical mass UL12, so if the box works better than the generic, I'll probably be buying 2-3 more.

Let me know if it's possible to make a generic box that will fit into most cars trunks with the volume required to make it loud/sound good.

Also would like the lowest tuning possible without ruining SQ, as every other setup I've ever had was tuned at around 34 and had really punchy bass, and never the low rumbling bass. Would like to see the difference and try out a few different box ideas.

Anyone got a pic of a generic single 12" ported box I could look at as an example? I would like to purchase at least 2 different types just to see.

i would replace the word generic with versatile. box builders on here know what they are doing so there is nothing generic about them.

You got to at least measure the trunk opening. The interna of the trunk might be fine, but the opening might not allow you get the box in.

3rd gen altimas have up to 34.5 inches of width at the back end by the back seats, 14 MAX on the height unless the ends are tappered a little.

I had the local shop build me a generic box to use until I get a good one built, and it's small enough that it would fit into any trunk. It's 2.5 cubes or so, and it's loud as heck already. Already as loud as my 2 SI BM's on 1000 RMS.

With a good box, I'm sure it would rock! I guess I'll just measure the trunk of the new car and just wait on the box then if a small box for a single 12 can't be built to fit most trunks. The reason I want it to fit most trunks is because I don't want to use it in the Altima, I want to use it in the next car I get, but I should probably just wait I guess.
