Default 2 10" box build for Dodge 1500

Well i started this tonight. I'm still up in the air between picking either Sundown SA 10's, or Skar Audio VVX 10's. I'm kinda of leaning toward the Skars, simply because not many people have the 10's, and i see a lot of SA10 single cab truck installs.

But anyway, the box is 2.4 cubes net with 2 4" PVC pipes (flared at the end) tuned to 33 hz. Will finish the box in the next couple of days, but still need to sell me current sub to buy the new ones.

Anyone have suggestions on what kind of 10's i should run? I'll be putting about 1300-1400 wrms to the pair.

And, is the little "blocker bar" in front of the port a good idea with the port being only about 7" from the sub? i've had problems before with past enclosures of the port being too close and the sub unloading a lot.

Thanks. And the mounting depth on the Skars are 6" i believe, so i'm more than good on mounting depth.

I'd get the skars personally, Sa's are nice to, skar's are just a bit cheaper and still a great sub

That's what i've heard. I've also heard that they will give about the same output, but the Skars are a better low end sub, which i'm all about.

I would also agree with the Skar's! I've got a build going on with the 12's and they are pretty beefy subs! I've never played with a set of SA's before, but I'm sure either route you go you'll be happy! I just went with price of new subs and re-cones to make my choice!!!

Thanks! And i'm hoping for over a 140 with this setup. I'm still up in the air about the blocking piece in front of the port. Does everything think it's a good idea (so the subs don't unload on lower frequencies), or would it be better to not have it in there? The closest sub will be about 7 inches away from the port.

I would suggest a pair of DDs but from the 2 brands mentioned above proly not in the budget.. or airspace not available... so id say the reason a lot of people go with the SA10s is becuz they r the ISHHHH... but honestly cant go wrong with either sub both great specially for price i just TRUST sundown a lil more at this point....

Since Skar is pretty new, i haven't heard much about them. They look like very capable subs, but haven't heard anything about customer service..
