Wanted to build a box for a pair of DD 1508's I had lying around. Designed the Box to be 2 cuft tuned to 34 Hz.

Boxes overall dimensions are 21.5 x 20 x 14.5 with a 1.5" port opening.

Sketched up the box first to see how I liked it.

Started doing the kerf and made the brace.

After getting all of that done I rounded it over onto the brace and started fiberglassing all the kerfs.

And Finally here's a Mock up of what it should look like minus the wings

Had to stop due to lighting. Will finish fiberglassing the back and then I will button it up and cut some holes.

Here's a shot of the DDs with the large carbon fiber dust caps

Have the kerf all bondo'd up and ready to roll

Then I got to finishing it up. Screwed and glued all the boards together. Heres a shot of it being tested in my car.

Had it wired to my IA 40.1 @ 4 ohms. For 2 8's they get down and are loud.

Then onto making it pretty, heres the finished product.

Unique, but very awesome. I really like that box. Nice work.

How do you determine the radius of the kerf/ distance between each cut?

This box was easy. For other kerfs I make an arbitrary number like a 5" or 6" radius. Since this was a half circle, and I knew that the box was 14.5" tall with a port operning of 1.5", my diameter would be 12.25". Cir***ference is Pi*D and I need half of that. So my kerf length is 19.23" and you make 11 cuts for a 1/4 radius so I need 22. 19.23"/22 is .87". Thats how I made my kerf, other people have different methods.

Gotta start somewhere
At least you attempted it at first by yourself
