Why are you putting an NS1 on a single SA-8 V.2? Is it the normal production version, Stock SPL version or the straight SPL version SA-8 V.2?
I see that its tuned to 30hz, so Im assuming that this is for daily driving and not for burping. I'd understand putting an NS1 on a Single SA-8 V.2 SPL for burping. Jacob did this, but he put it in a sealed enclosure, and broke the 150db barrier, so he was able to put more power to the SA8 because sealed enclosures are less efficient so the sub(s) can take more power in a sealed box. So be specially careful with the NS1 in a ported box as the sub wont be able to take as much power. I believe, and maybe Jacob can chime in on this, but if he were to send the same amount of power that he did with the sealed box into a ported box, he might have blown that sub.
Just seems like WAY too much power running an NS1 for a single SA-8V.2, even if you aren't running it at full power. For daily driving, a single SAZ-1200 would suffice, but with the gains being adjusted cautiously. Regular production SA-8 V.2's can take roughly 800wrms thermally. The SA-8V.2 Stock SPL can take a bit more than that because they have an SPL voice coil and an extra spider. The SPL SA-8 V.2 can take an unknown amount of power, but within reason.
Making another assumption, I guess you are running the NS1 because you already had an NS1?
I'm speaking from experience. I own 4 SA-8 V.2 Stock SPL versions and I recently upgraded from a 3000wrms amp to two 1800wrms amps. I haven't ran the two 18001D's yet for a total power of 3600wrms. Went from running 750wrms to 900wrms each
Not bashing, just trying to understand is all. Good luck with the build.
