Default Opinions for finished box design

My hubby & I finally finished my box for my Sundown SA 12's. I love black & pink & Habisucs flowers. I was thinking of doing a wrap of black carpet & pink Habisucs all over w/a pink port. What do you think?

Nah, dont use carpet. Use Suede or leather.

i second the leather. i think that would look pretty nice plus the leather will help protect the box far more than carpet would.

I've never heard of about less protection with carpet. Explain, please.

this is what I did for the wifeys car. its Coach fabric and looks great. Should be alot easier and cheaper to find a fabric that you like and just wrap it in that

leather will prevent moisture, rain, and spilled drinks from reaching and soaking into the wood. leather can take a blow like dropping something on it better than carpet can. leather does not collect dust like carpet does. plus it seems to look nicer than carpet in many peoples opinion.

as for me, i like to paint mine with thick non-skid black. it soaks into and seals the wood, provides a very strong texture, and if it does get a blemish its real easy to spot paint the damages. the new non-skid seems to blend in with the older painted non-skid. the 1 major down side is it takes a bit of skin with it if you rub against it to hard. hence is 1 of the many reasons that i made up stickers saying (do not fu__ing touch) and put them on the box and my amps.

I would seal the wood regardless of what you put on it. I always resin my boxes..

Since my box will be in my trunk I seriously doubt that it can be damaged by anything seriously... I don't haul heavy things & I sure wouldn't with my speakers in there. I liked everyone's ideas but i've decided to use some type of paint & use some creativity with the flowers. I will post pics as soon as I'm done. Thanks again!

just an idea, you can wrap the box in carpet to match the carpet color of your trunk. go to a Michael's or some other craft store and buy some of the pre-made wooden flowers place them on the box than wrap to give an embossed look. a little more creative would be paint the flowers first than place them on the box. when wrapping the box don't spray the adhesive on the face of the flowers. after you're done you cut out the carpet from around the flower. you get a carpet wrapped box that blends with the trunk and you get the flowers to pop.
