Default Del Sol build log 8w6's

Basically, my friend had some JL 8w6's lying around....I mentioned they were 8w0's previously, but I was mistaken...they are in fact 8w6 v1's with dual 6 coils.

This enclosure is .75 cu ft per chamber tuned at 33hz. It lies right on the window line behind the seats in the cabin.

Construction, I used Titebond II and PL. Because were using such small subs, and not much power i decided to go with PL and 2 inch brad nails rather than screws. To me this seemed like the way to go, considering I dont think a pair of 8w6's are going to blow apart a ported enclosure on 200watts.

Anyhow, now for the goodies...keep in mind im still a rookie, this is only my 2nd slot port.

Yeah, definitely tint them, looks like you know what you're doing with the enclosure too, good job!

For sure...

I was also thinking...how will cabin gain effect the sound in this car? It is a removable hardtop, so will it sound like a bag of asses with the top off? Would I have been better off sealed? Firing towards the front instead of up? these are all questions im curious about...

The main reason for subs up ports up was so that his amp could be mounted on the box between the front two seats...I was also contemplating subs up ports to the front (between the seats) but couldnt get a good design.

The box is actually a lot smaller than it seems, external dimensions are 34x14x9.

This is actually the next idea for this car since I have a ton of extra materials....its just a rough sketch with no exact internal dimensions...it is the exact same size on the exterior though...

That design has wave cancellation and delay issues written all over it.
