Let building commence:
Dash was relatively easy to remove.... because i didnt have to remove it. Honestly, it was the fastest install i've ever had to do. Granted it took a while seeing as i was setting up the as much as the car as i could for future equipment... but it was fast! i got a feel for removing the panels and such so when i go to do my doors, it should be fairly fast... on to radio install.
because you need a better ground, we all know that.
As it seems, someone liked sparkles who previously owned this car... that or i was a drag queen one night and didn't know... or maybe thats what i want you to think. :eyebrow:
So, popping off the side skirts (if thats what you would call them, i found there was basically no space in the alloted, i guess you can call channel? so i basically put that ish past that on the floor, went smoothly.
So while my little bro was helping me pass the cables to the back, i decided to pop the door speaker pods off. Upon taking off the grills, it looked like it was gonna be the easiest install ever. After further examination, i figured i had to dremmel out some of the plastic to fit my nendo speakers because frankly, they didn't fit at all couldn't even get past the basket... UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION, My brother in law put the window down as i was explaining to him my dilemma.... i just about gasped at this point... NO CLEARANCE WHAT SO EVER. Little over 2 inches... i mean, there is SOOOO much space behind the window guide and it all goes to waste. all of it. made me rage a little, but gave me slight reinforcement to the realization that i need to do my doors, wheres jon?
So, i went back to installing the radio and we cut out a bit of the plastic to fit the mic and USB through.
and then hooked up mah RCAS:
and put er in....
Since my 320 amp alt, from singer alternators, mikes a great guy, this isnt a plug at all.... great alternators, you should buy one. Since my 320 amp alt is a 1 wire alt, i need to wire it to an ignition source. Pulled out my handy dandy test light to find the power on one of my cigarette lighters considering brown and black arent the most telling of signs... i mean brown can be ground ya know?
Brown was positive... -_-" so i cut her up and fit some 16gauge wire on one side. My girlfriend then wrapped that wire with electrical tape slowly... by hand.. so that i could pass it through above the transmission as i have a rubber boot by my shifter that seals off the transmission area from my cab. Just gonna poke a hole through there and feed the wire down and under the truck to the alternator. Now instead of having a mess of wire, i decided i was gonna play it smart and i wrapped the wire up and put my little pocket back in place. Now when i go install my alternator, its as easy as just opening that pocket, passing that wire and done.... and then finding someone to latch it on that isnt a furnace. no biggie.
Popped my console back on and then sold my ZV4 to the guy that was coming over, fought with my beautiful girlfriend, and then started playing with it :eyebrow:
At this point, i did my time alignment and such... cool little process but takes a little time for it to process each speaker and find its right power level and such. cool beans for sure tho. any who, finished product:
That's all for today. I mean i passed my RCA's, my volt meter positive, my remote wire, my alternator wire, diagnosed my doors, paired up my phone for Bluetooth (which was a hassle because the menu sucks), installed my radio and tomorrow I'm changing her oil and installing my D3400 up front.
Waiting on robin to get a design to me and to order my wire. Went with robin for a design on my zv4 box because although I know me, Zaim and Dre could put it together and make something great, I would like to incorporate as much of Florida as i can, i am a very strong believer in supporting family and you guys are my family in one way or another, so if i can spread the love and wealth to family in whatever way i can, i will do so even if its not a ton of money. For us regular folk, every dollar counts.
Thanks for checking it out and i hope to have more for you guys soon!
