Default Kicker L7 12 and a jl500.1 **vids are on page 2 and 3***

I recently got my hands on a decent kicker l7 12 d2 ohm for $80 bucks. I'm currently in the middle of building a pine slot ported box. the total cubic feet is 5.5 cubes (2.0 cubic feet of box and 3.5 cubic feet of port). The port is 5.5" wide by 18" tall, tuned to 35hz. I'm running it off of a JL slash 500/1v2 at 1 ohm. Will be posting more pics of the box completely finished later and a meter video.

It isn't a t-line but kicker recommends a 6 cube box (witch is way to big for this crappy speaker) but I've built quite a few boxes over the years for l7 12s. They like right around 2 cubes of box .(around 2.5-3 cubes they start to lose cone when you throw any kind of power at them). Since kicker recommended such a huge box (and I have the room for it) I made a huge port for it instead of just empty box space.

Kicker recommends 6 cubes for a 12?

that's insane.

Interested to see how all that port works out for you though.

Finally got to hear it today, It honestly sounds pretty good. It moves quite a bit of air for being a single 12 on "500" watts rms. will be posting vids soon, and hopefully getting a db score at car toys soon will keep you guys posted.
