Default My 05 Blazer "Not So" Budget Build

I started this as a budget build of around $500-$600, but went over lol.

The truck started stock, bought it when I lived in FL. I said I wasnt going to do anything to it, just drive it. That didnt last long... Moved to TN, decided I needed a GPS, bought the Kenwood and it was on from there.....

Equipment

Kenwood DNX7100 w/ Ipod and Bluetooth
Rockford Fosgate P162S Components up front
MA Audio MA6529 6.5" coaxials in the rear
MA Audio M500XE 4 channel
MA Audio M1900XE Mono Channel
4x MA Audio MA80XE Subs
Kicker HyperFlex PKD1 Kit
Optima Yellowtop under hood
Big 3 in 0/1 welding wire

The first wave...

The Big 3

I love my hammer crimper

Installed the Kenwood. Luckily the 04-05 Blazer have the double din RDS radio, no mods needed...

Ran some wires....

Installed the front and rear stage...

6.5" in door with spacer ring

Had to mod the door panel to fit (should have painted the blue piece as well, not at all noticeable in the truck but very noticeable in pics)

Installed one set of tweeters in the stock dash location (switched the plates to point them outward, instead of inward like the stock tweeters)

Mounted the other set high on the A pillar ( have since moved them lower on the inside of the pillar, phased across the windshield, they were WAY to bright aimed at my head, sound much better now)

Made some plates to mount the 6.5's in the stock 6x9 location

Didnt have my camera when building the box, but heres some finished pics. Sealed, dual chamber, just over 1 cft per chamber, down firing..

So thats where it was for the 2 years I lived in TN, moved to NH 6 months ago. Had to get rid of the MA 8's and the M1900XE so I could fit all my crap in the Blazer for the move. Was subless until 2 months ago when I found 2 RF HX2 8's on Craigslist for $20 Picked up a Sundown SAE-1200D to push them. Built a 1.8 cft @ 34hz, 30 sq in of port for them, VERY nice upgrade. Loud and low for just 2 8"ers....

The new stuff

The little beasts...

Little more than half a sheet of MDF

And one in the truck as it sits now...

A little port action...

So any updates on your ride and system? I don't have a blazer but I do have a '88 S10 extended cab.

The "not so" budget build... I like that, and Isn't it how all the good ones begin?
