Default Going for my first 60 in a Subaru Legacy

Project Subwoofaru. (name is still being decided on lol)

As far as I know this will be the first Legacy to hit a 60.

So the build:

4 Ampere 3.0 15s. TFE and XS18kSPL/caps in the future when the funds are available.

Literally got these today. Glad to swap out my Tantrics with these.

What this build has done:

157.28 at 45hz with 4 HDD 15s on 8k clipped to hell with my port breaking in the process.

What needs to be done:

-Steel bracing added to box to fix some flexing
-Inside of box glassed to stop any possible air leaks
-Box secured to B pillars with steel strapping
-Glassing around edge of box (wall) all the way around the vehicle for total cabin separation
-New port made from sewer pipe and mdf
-Vibraflex added to floor, ceiling and doors eventually

60 is the lowest I expect with all these changes

What I did today. Started tackling box bracing. Using 2" square box tubing 1/4" wall thickness.. Stuff is retarded beefy. Also 4 5" square 3/8" plates.

Here's what the box looks like without subs or a port:

Drilling out the plates:

Going at this a little differently than most people. Most guys will brace by bolting the steel to the box using bolts. Thus having to put bolts through the box. Unfortunately I don't have that luxury in some of the spots so I had to think outside of the box. Steel meet wood:

Wood will be bolted to the steel with 4 bolts and then 8 #10 decking screws go through both layers and wood is glued to box. Effective 20 square inches ish of glue bond area plus 8 screws.. Will not let go. Mounting a plate:

Kind of fuzzy sorry. Dem angles:

Trying to cut that tubing with a chop saw... Nope:

Had to switch to little cutoff wheels.. Go through one per cut lol. Test fitting the first two pieces. Success:

Can still do a decent weld despite the crappy welder and helmet I'm using lol:

To more supports to go. One attached to the bottom of the box and one attached to the top.

What size port do you run? Why not use metal flares?

15". I considered a psycho port but I can't afford one right now. Like 220 for a static one. I got a huge roundover bit that will make good flares.

2005. Feel free to post up guys. Can't wait to try out these Ampere's. Being perfectly honest the motor is a little smaller than I was expecting but tsps still look promising for SPL. Especially lower power. Might finally have a lead on getting rid of my Tantrics.. Fingers crossed.
