Default 2008 Yukon XL on 24's with 4 18s

Alright after trolling on this forum for almost 4 years I guess I should make a build log. LOL I think its the ridicule that most ppl voice that throws me off from actually posting a build log. Im not a seasoned vetrian nor do i have a "team" behind me. Where Im from nobody is a basshead, well there are maybe 5 of them lol. Kicker and Rockford rule up here and local shops shun other brands. Enuff belly aching:

My ride: 2008 Yukon XL slt. I purposly wanted a gm 5.3 cause I knew they made a quad bracket for and origonally wanted a suburban cause I wanted the room in the back. After 3 months of looking through a dealer friend of mine he found 2008 yukon xl black on black with no sun roof.

Came with all the stupid fake chrome all over it! Took it off the first day i had it lol. Kind of pissed off with the chrome over the wheel wells cause it caused rust and paint to chip.

Had to support from the start

Got it tinted right away and ordered some blacked out headlights and taillights

First audio upgrade was a triple alternator bracket that I bought off here with 2 Iraggi 275s. Bracket was made by Missing Link audio I think. I really didnt want to deal with the stupid PCM controlled voltage regulator on new GMs so I kept my audio electrical completly seperate from my vehicle. Missing link makes a box that would take care of it but they wanted somthing like 200 for it. Figured was gunna run a quad bracket anyways so 3 h/o alts would be alright

I have zero problems with people having a shop or other enthusiast do their build. But it's a little disrespectful they take credit for it and/or don't correct people when they assume the owner did the work. Happens all the time.

I've never, not one time, seen a gain from 45's. People think of ports as a wind tunnel. They don't work that way. They resonate. They don't produce wind. If it was a wind tunnel, 45's would be more than justified. But it isn't.

I got bored so I figuedI could make a copy of the triple bracket and made my own:

Trusty old gatorback belt

Spring time I got some new Shoes for her 24" akuzas and threw on a new grill. Also tried the cop look with stealies and hated it.

Also was set on running the new Crescend PA 8s and super tweets for the mids and highs during the presale. That was a fiasco, waited like 3 extra months for them apparently ups lost them. Whatever Crescendo came through with some extra super tweets as well.

Tried to clean up some of the wiring under the hood, bought a tonne of Audiotechnix 1/0 cca wire when the first came out

Ended up selling the Iraggi alternators and bracket and jumpped on the Tenny band wagon. What a mistake that was. Bought 3 300 amp alternators from him, that were nothing more then 250 amp ebay alternators.

Luckly they came with the gm 4 pin plugs cause they aint cheap like 15 each. Also bought a tonne of dual 1/0 ring terminals from Stinger for the alts.

Decited to run the 1/0 gauge finally. Knew I was gunna run it under the truck. Luckly I ended up running into the only local shop that even knew what a basshead was. LOL he ended up giving me a hand and I was able to throw this tubby bitch up on a host and run then 1/0 under the truck.

Ended up realizing that Murillo Alverez from soundigital actually lived in the same town that I did. So I ended up selling the 2 Sundown saz2500s that i had and 4 obisidian audio 18s that i was origonally gunna run in the truck and ended up buying a tonne of nanos and a couple 12ks from him.

Loved inspecting the brazillian technoligy
The board on the left is from a 1500, and the board on the right is from an 8k

Soundigital 8k up top and Sd12k on bottom

Ordered up some custom inputs from Toolmaker

Was a quick little clamp of the 12k while hooked up to an aq hdc3 12 i scewed around with for awhile

So I was set on running 4 Sundown zv3 18s on 2 Soundigital 12ks in non wall ssnw. As usual I got side tracked with testing a tonne of subs all last summer and ended up without a serious install all summer of 2013. Tested a tonne of subs:

I think this was about the same time Jacob started doing the Yardsale and ended up buying a crap load of subs off Jacob

I asked for some decals cause none were ever include with yardsale subs lol

Ended up scooping up 4 sundown x18s was super impressed with them. Wife wasnt with my growing collection of Sundown

Had no serous tunes and most of my equiptment was sitting in the basement waiting for my huge wall install. LOL So i got fed up and built a box for 2 18s, 12 cubes tuned to 32 hz. This was mid November so was freezing cold in my tiny shed. Had to get a space heater to keep from freezing and kept the glue warm lol. Port was super goofy but you will see in a bit that I had already ran my power and grounds so was limited to where i could install my batteries and i wanted to keep the port fairly close to the rear hatch

So I got the bright idea of loading this myself into my Yukon. Notice the sub box its sitting on top of

Got her in lol

And loaded:

Pair of yardsale x 18s

And honestly I love cheap power lol these were awesome till big company started carrying them and jacked up their prices

Yes its a mess but it worked!

2 cheap group 31s on the left and 4 banks of super caps. The super caps were awesome!! Held voltage like a champ till they ran out of juice!

Upgrade time: Jacob had another yardsale and picked up 4 zv4 18s. Was the one where he got rid of any of the mega roll v2 that werent glued down 100% before he switched to bolted surrouds.

A nice comparison shot betwen the zv4 18 and zv3 18

Summer 2014:
Ended up getting a "show" together with my local audio guy. Super small mainly a demo fest. I had a Spl Lab mic but nobody really cared what they were pushing for numbers.

At the show I ended up running 4 group 31a and a xspower d3400 up front.
3 Tenney 250s
2 zv4 18s
Soundigital 12k
Did a 152.9 sealed on dash at 38hz lost the screen shot I had of it
Clamped around 8k out of the 12k as well

I was running an xspower vcm to my 3 alts. I later found out that the vcm caused my alts to not charge worth a crap leaving me with the magical brazillian smoke

I admit it was totally my fault I was dropping to 11s and couldnt figure out why. Basically clipped the amp to death at low voltage.

This was the kids first hair tricking build he experienced. I admit I was pretty mean

The weekend before the PPI BA7000.1d were relased and i had to pick up a pair to run on the zv4's and lucky with the sd12k now being cooked.

one of the first gut shots

There was a car show at the local audio shop, Clamped the pair of ba7000.1s i had:

Yeah yeah no scope but a good indiaction of these cheap amps abilties
