Default 1996 Lincoln Contiental - System and a bit of other stuff.. LOTS of pics

Ok im working on a 1996 Lincoln Continental now. I bought this car, for what i thought was cheap. Maybe not, either way i have it now. I bought and it runs and drives, but the power steering was out, and the rear of the car was down, of course the air suspension is being stupid. I got it to air up all around, however it sits sideways a little. I also found the front passenger bag leaks so that may be the problem. It holds air,but when i jack it up it leaks out.

Anyways, i replaced the power steering pump and the steering is working fine now. I think its drivable with the air suspension as is, but id like to get that fixed soon, it doesnt sit sideways as bad as it did before atleast. I also need a new brake line up front, and i dono what else.

So, onto the fun (stereo) stuff. I do not have anything in the car yet. I have a 1993 Continental with all my stuff in it, that i am currently driving. Im pretty sure ill be transferring everything from that car to this one. Which includes: Sony deck, cheap 4 channel amp, Audiopipe 1500 watt mono block, DD 9515d in 4.5 cube box tuned to 34hz, and all the wiring, 1/0 klm wire.. Plan to get my second 9515 fixed and build a big box in the trunk, for now will be the same box with one 9515 tho.

Will start posting pics now..

Ill start off with pics of the car itself. This wasnt real long after i got it home. I dont have any good full pics of the car tho. I still need rims for it, it came with 15" wire wheels with lower profile tires, and they are reverse offset on a fwd car so they stick out too far.

Some pics of the car and the wheels that came with it. I personally like the look of the rims, and dont even like how the car looks with standard rims on it honestly. You can see a bunch of chrome trim around the doors, i ripped it all off cuz half of it was missing and messed up anyways. They used a shit ton of glue and it ran all over, so that needs to be cleaned up too.

The previous owner cut the mufflers off on it. These cars go from a single pipe into two mufflers in the back. Along with two converters and a resonator thing up front. So they put straight pipe on it in place of the two mufflers. It sounds pretty decent actually, its not extremely loud like straight pipes either since it has the two converters and resonator between it.

Crappy looking front passenger air strut, that one leaks when the car is lifted.

Busted up steering pump.. The shaft came right out, its not supposed to do that. O what a joy that was, removing that pump from a fwd v8 car..

Pic of under the hood. 4.6L V8 32valve..

There was this big plastic thing that comes down, its inside the trunk on the top covering the bottom of the 6x9's in the rear deck. I removed that. It housed the factory amp, two other things, no idea what they are. But i removed it for more space for a box.

Factory amp (JBL premium?)

Factory "Subs"

Factory amp bypass harness (came with the car)

Alrighty then.. So here is my trunk space. Fairly big for a trunk, comapred to some others atleast. About as big as my 93 contiental, this one is even slightly bigger i believe. Sorry, some of the pics came out kinda blurry.

Bunch of crap i removed from that thing in the trunk.. Anyone know what those two things are? Im thinking they mgiht actually be for the stock radio, if so im going to just remove them, or i have to find a place to mount them.

I am unsure why, but someone cut the shit out of this thing in the trunk. It obviously had a system in it before, but cutting that thing out had no gain in anything since the seat doesnt fold down or anything.

So, here is the 6x9 holes im going to leave open for air flow. Those were the factory "Sub" holes, so i dotn need them anyways. Each door has a speaker, so i can still have 4 speakers in the car with those back ones removed.

Then, there is this vent like thing that goes to the trunk. I have no idea why or for what. But i think im going to cut the thing up so its just one big open hole and gets a little more air flow.

Wont be intalling the stereo til this car is ready to be driven, doesnt need much more i dont think tho and i can drive it. Once i start putting the system in, ill post a bunch more pics of the install and all that.

Started removing a little bit of the wiring from the 93. Pulled the 1/0, remote turn on lead, and the AP's remote gain. I replaced the 1/0 with some monster cable 8g just so it has something in there to have a small system in it. I also pulled out my big 3 that consisted of 1/0 knu klm wire. The wires look like they will fit perfect into the new car without and cutting or needing longer pieces. We will see tho.

I will start installing the wires into this car very shortly. Then i will have some new pics. Im really to get a couple comments or something. I dont even care if you say much, just to know if anyone is even interested in seeing more pics, otherwise i wont waste my time posting a bunch of pics. I know my builds are not much, so if its not worth the time posting the pics i wont bother. And im not looking for sympathy haha.. If your not truely interested in seeing it, dont say you are to be nice, haha.
