Default Two X-18s walled in Civic

Any ideas why it's not loud? I don't know the exact volume but somewhere between 13-15 cu ft. I measured 2900 watts on music and it seems to like somewhere close to 32Hz. The port area is on the small side but I rounded over all the port corners with a 3/4 roundover bit and there is no port noise. I am not impressed with it but I'm gonna play with it today and see what happens, it doesn't play much below 30Hz or above 50Hz. I haven't sealed the wall off and I'm guessing it's causing some cancellation. Maybe tuning low won't work in such a small cabin space, maybe the box tuning freq is way lower than the tuning freq of the car. If I can't get it right the 2 18s are getting replaced with 6 12s. I know the pics are shit but that's all I have. Subs are getting warm a little too quick as well. This is the first time I've heard the x series sub and I keep hearing it sounds different but I don't know if that is whats going on. It will flex the windshield pretty good and I'm sure it will do a hairtrick but just doesn't sound loud.

What did the meter say where are u at now db wise? I wouldnt have done the port down low like that... Top port would have been way better.

I have no idea what it is doing on a meter, I am just comparing to other systems I have built. My expedition does about a 59+ so not really fair to compare it to that. I was really limited on how I designed the enclosure so that's where the port wound up being and the subs are set back enough so my seat still leans back. With both windows down it does not hit, driver window up and passenger down its ok and both up it does ok just loses a little bit of lows. It seems like a cancellation thing, the windshield is prob moving and inch on some songs.

It's hard to see. Is there like a step inside the box right before the port? That's prly blocking air flow like a mofo

Im guessing port. Odd location and obstructions. 2 18s walled on 3k should be doing at least 150 easy

So I found an empty parking lot and got to turn it up and really check out what it's doing. So using a tone generator app on my phone it sounds like it is peaking around 38Hz and not 32Hz like I thought. I need to seal off the wall, the rear window and trunk is flexing more than the front of the car.

The port on the bottom is most likely the issue. You can't do 2 18's in a civic coupe and expect to be able to lean your seat back. You have 1 choice, be loud and have the seat straight up or lean the seat back and be meh
