I bought a dedicated SPL vehicle not long ago, I kept my Cobalt but I'm currently tearing out the Six X v2 12s 161 db wall
though. I'll slowly but surely get this thing playing, hopefully in time for the Sundown show in August. The goal for the build is 160+ dbs below 30 hertz while demoing music, not just some lame burp score.
The Suburban will be walled at the B pillar with six Nightshade 15s in a forward firing large ratio 4th order for maximum efficiency. Currently have two XS Power 36k SPL Lithium batteries and will be adding two more later. Going to start with a single alternator and then jump to a quad alt setup. Starting with four runs positive and four negative of Sundown 1/0 OFC and will add four more runs of each when I upgrade to quad alts so it's two runs of each per alt. I have three SCV-6000s and I'm undecided about upgrading to three SCV-7500s and calling it a day or keeping the 6ks and eventually adding three more of them so it's a 6k per sub, might have to upgrade to team subs at that point though. My mids and highs.... LOL bear with me here... I have an SAX-125.4 and the SA v2 component set that I'll use temporarily until I have either Scott Bowman or Jared Gibson fiberglass me some nice doors with multiple Neopros and the up and coming smaller footprint SAX-200.4 class D amps.
I currently have the Suburban gutted and I'm almost done spray foaming, coming up on two full cases already.
I've applied two layers of the 100 mil Kno Knoise Kolossus deadener to my roof behind the B pillar. Form fitted wood will be pl premiumed to the roof in the front. Still need to get the floor and rear quarter panels and that deadened. Large scale build will take some time for sure and I'm about to start working seven days a week to help pay for the upgrades, so that will be less time to build. Will be ordering the one alt soon and then running my power wire.
This is going to be one hell of a build and you're not going to want to miss this one. Stay tuned for more to come!
I have a couple of pictures of the Suburban and quite a bit of money that will be going into it.. Been working on my Cobalt more than the Suburban lately though since it's my daily driver. Contemplating walling it again with a budget setup for a little bang or going with a nice trunk wall setup.
