Default Small Duramax Build, Nothing Major

Hey guys I picked up a truck this spring it was time for an upgrade and I plan on doing a small build nothing major. Most of the upgrades will be under the hood, truck was basically stock when I got it except for the leveling kit, wheels and tires, and an exhaust. Since I bought it I have installed, HSP cold side egr delete pipe, modified up pipe, MBRP 3" downpipe, Deviant Race Parts PCV reroute, Fass 150 lift pump, Beans Diesel sump, Fass fuel filter delete, PPE race valve, PPEI DSP5 Tuning, Edge Insight CTS2, Cognito upper control arms, PPE tie rod sleeves, and Bilstein 5100's up front. I have a shift kit, and HSP hot side pipe that I haven't gotten around to installing new wheels are on order since I didn't want to deal with maintaining chrome.

As far as the audio goes going to be doing 2 Sundown SD3 10's, Cactus Sounds PF300.1, probably a positive and negative run of Shok 1/0 since I have bunch left over and a JL Audio Cleansweep. I wanted to retain all of the bose stuff and steering wheel controls. I only drive a few days a month so trying to keep the install as budget friendly as possible. Anyhow all comments are welcome this log won't be very extensive but at least it will have pictures.

The truck

Cold side pipe where the EGR used to be.

Front end suspension work from last weekend before and after.

Alright so onto what I did this weekend, I built the box mostly out of the box from my grand prix build that I tore apart which is why it's mostly Birch. Didn't have a piece big enough for the top so I bought a sheet of MDF. The box isn't perfect but I don't usually do stuff with so many angles. If I had to do it again there's some things I'd have done differently but oh well I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. It was mostly trial and error getting things to fit which made it take longer. All these pictures are basically what I accomplished on Sunday.

All if these are yesterday's work my girlfriend did most of the painting, inside and out. I anticipated having clearance issues so that's why the box has a couple of windows. I could have used wood but I had the extra plexiglass glass so I figured why not. Getting the top to fit was the worst because of the angles and the box managed to get a little out of square when I was building.

I suck at cutting straight lines with a jig saw.

All painted up what it will look like with the subs in.

Not the best picture but here's how it looks in the truck with part of the seat folded up.

Overall I like how it turned out, I may try and lift the seat about a quarter of an inch as it rubs the box a little when you fold it down. Hopefully my amp will mount behind the seat as I have no other place for it. Of everything goes well I will have everything installed next time I'm home.

With any luck I'll have everything installed the first week of October, as I'm going to be in Kansas for work until then.

Thanks there wasn't really much out there to base my build off of so I just came up with a general plan and went with it.
