Default 2008 xB quickie...

I recently did an install on my buddy's 2008 xB. He wanted to replace the OEM components, navigation, amplification, and add some woofage. We ended up finding him an Eclipse AVN20D (actually says AVN21D, which is odd...)(also, no preouts, FTL!!!), a Planet Audio VX4004, MB Quart DSH216 components, Tsunami wiring, and ultilmately a pair of Diamond Audio D308D4's. He requested everything to be stealthy, so he could still use his hatch area for his hockey bag and other miscellanous ventures.

I didn't take many pics of the full install process, but I had to build new speaker baffles (the OEM Scion ones are triangular) and I also ran new wire from the components to the amplifier. Everything was soldered and heat shrunk.

As Vmann knows, I hardly take pics. Hell, I didn't take any when we built his horn.

I apologize in advance for their amazing quality. Few pics I did take:

I love this paint, by the way...

Trim panel:

Final results:

So far it sounds pretty alright. Not quite enough for a bass head like myself, but plenty for a stealthy install. I'm sure if he would've opted for a couple DD 1508's, more power, and a ported enclosure, I'd be happy with the output.

I'll try to get more pics next time I see him.

Yezzir. It's great stuff. I wanted to use an ultrasuede material, but wasn't really worth it. Plus, the stuff the fabric store suuuuucked. Wasn't stretchy at all.

That's an awesome looking install. Are diamond products any good? My friend had some amp by them and it seemed kind of light and shitty.

I'm currently running a D3 500.4 amplifier to my front stage. Decent amplifier for trading an enclosure for it. Just because an amplifier is light in weight, doesn't mean it's low quality. The older D7 and D6 Diamond products are very high end.
