Lightbulb Project Arm rest

Ok so im digging through some old boxxs and come across a 6.5mid driver ( Planet Audio }
and decide to gut the arm rest of its un used space too beef up my Midbass in the front stage



So i get started on the facGrill to allow sound through




and I get to keep both cup holders
and I start on the boxx using Birch scrapps from another project


test fit time

installing PA Speaker
boxx 2/3rds filled with pollyfill


install into place

pollyfill under cup holder / Grill





and Bamm !!! there you have a Center ch Midbass install, using Scrapps & old parts etc etc etc,

looks good man i do like the idea good way to have some midbass without modding the doors at all

I bridged it on the rear Ch of my Ppi Dcx 300.4 / so 150watts or so
I cooked the driver
it was a left over from a set that had the other driver cook ! wasent a supprise, But Dammmmmmmmmmmmm it sounded Great till I smelled Coil cooking anyone got any BBQ sauce?

but what did it do on the meter? 160z? sucks it fried man, im thinkin about the same idea for mine if I get bored. Did it sound good when it was playing?

you should ditch the wood trim panel for the grill and just wrap that whole panel in grill cloth, would look much better.

Oh man, that probably sounded soooo good while it lasted! I wonder why it didn't last, though.

I can see it working like CDTs upstage/centerstage kit. The sound from that center speaker probably reflects off the dash/windshield and then reaches both driver and passenger at the same time, then creating a nice image of a stage up front! Genius! Using reflections to your benefit.

It probably adds a good bit of ambiance, too, giving the presence of sound around you, beside you, under your armpit. If it has enough excurshun, I can see it helping cool the armpit.

Was the speaker hooked up to left or the right channel? summed mono? Or was it a dedicated center channel using dolby digital playback, or bi-phantom or something?
