Well I didn't have much of a build to start with but I decided that with my Skar 15" on the way that I should start over and do it the right way.
Here is what I'm going to run:
H/U - Sony CDX-460UI w/ iPhone support
Amp - PowerBass ASA 1100.5
Sub - Skar VVX 15" underpowered at 500w
Front Stage - PowerBass S652
Rear Stage - PowerBass S652-T
Wiring - KNU KCA Flex 1/0
Electrical Upgrades - Big 3 w/ KNU KCA 1/0
Had the front speakers hooked up for a few days and they sounded great but didn't get loud enough. So I'm looking for something not too expensive that will handle more power and get louder...
To start off I tore everything out from the rear half of my car to get ready for some 60mil AudioTechnix deadener, but I have some questions about applying the deadener:
Should I take off the stuff that is already there or just add more?
Is it worth it to put it on the roof?
Next I'm going to make new floor for the trunk since the stock cardboard one is caving in the middle. Again some more questions:
Would some weather treated plywood work for the floor? Also any suggestions on how I can install a trunk and still have access to the spare tire?
As for the enclosure I'm torn on what to do because I don't have the height to have the sub firing forward or backwards unless it's at an angle. My seats fold down and unless I have passengers in the back seats they will be folded down. Do you think I should just do sub up port back or something where I seal the box to the cabin. Since I don't have the height for a 15" standing up I was thinking maybe I could build something kinda like a blow-through and have the sub be at an angle.
