These actually made decent power. But inmy experiance ran hot since you had to run it at .5 to make any power. The high current design was nice cause you could loud it down but it was terribly ineffecient. Notice it has 16 power supply fets and 24 output fets to handle the current these things consume!

I think it's probably because that sub is not moving enough to allow it to cool.. Id turn the gain up a bit so it moves more for cooling reasons.. That's why it's hard on subs to be underpowered..

Same amp I have been wailing on for the last 6+ years bridged @ 1 ohm. Loved the fact that it came with a gain control which incorporated a clipping light. Compared to other amp internals I have seen of similar power outputs, there is lots of room inside this. Lots of space for air to circulate through via the dual fans, never had an issue with it going into any kind of protection mode.

is this the flame model? I had both, the first gold I had caught on fire, my fault, 4 12s in an ext cab s10 it split the seal between the glass and sheet metal and water leaked in and it caught on fire. They actually replaced it under warranty (back when audiobahn was a good company for about 2 years) and sent me the new chrome flame model and I sold it to my dumbass buddy who managed to blow it up like everything. But these things made power!
