Default Alpha Damp Deadener Review

So today I was finally able to deaden my vehicle. I have been waiting for a product that I thought would do the job but not kill the bank at the same time. I really wanted something that would work great and not need me to add additional layers down the road. Headliners are not fun so I wanted to get it done as soon as possible.

Packaging arrived safe and securely and in a timely fashion. I also like the U.S.A sticker!

Comparison pictures. The first one next to my laptop and the second next to AudioTechnix 60 mil deadener.

At first glance you realize it's not your "average" deadener. This foil backing looks like sheet metal compared to aluminum foil you might wrap your food with.

I will skip the fun part of taking apart my headliner but show my progress pictures and short but sweet videos.

Here is my pre-deadening video
Alpha Damp: Before - YouTube

Before installing any deadener this is a must!

Here is what I am looking to cover about 90%

This panel is the largest and creates the most flex/noise. It is between the A and B pillar. I believe it is this large because most versions of my Escape have sunroofs. This one does not, leaving me with this panel.

It was so quick and easy that I didn't even have time to take a ton of progress pictures, but here they are!

Here is my final review video. After watching it keep in mind I am in a garage so everything sort of echos. When my buddy knocks toward the back of my roof the racks on top are what you hear rattling. Let me tell you, the inside of that roof is solid!
Alpha Damp: After - YouTube

Hope you guys enjoy the review, I really wanted to get TL results showing the difference between before and after but I've had some technical difficulties. If you have any questions, please let me know!

Lastly, Jon from Second Skin has been a great help in directing me with which types of deadening I should use for other areas of my interior. He is very knowledgeable and has done an awesome job answering my questions promptly!

So I just wanted to add to this, literally a night and day difference! My roof used to flex and rattle terribly, especially with windows down. Just got my setup back in, same box, subs and MOAR power.. Completely solid!! This holds up just as well, I'd not better than my buddies suv with 3 layers of rattletrap. Truly amazed, I highly recommend this to anyone. Will try to get vids tomorrow

Awesome. Looks great.

Now come do mine. I f'n HATE taking apart headliners!!

P.S.- make sure to try different notes on the TL now. You probably dropped your peak a hz or two.

Ha man I think I lucked out with mine, it honestly took me and my buddy about 30 minutes to take it apart. I was very relieved because I was not looking forward to it. Thank god it sounds good because I only wanted to do it once.

Hoping to borrow my buddies spl lab to see where I'm at with the new setup.

I added more power (CF 8k @.35) and my roof was solid still. Usually it would be making a terrible sound even in the vehicle. Very surprised at how little I had to apply. All of my friends have 3+ layers on their roof of other brands to get equivalent strength!

20sqft pack. More than enough for a roof!
