Another day... another amp to test. This time, I got wind of an amp company that started up right here in Louisiana. I thought to myself, "Umm... why wasn't I notified?" How dare someone start up an amp company without my knowledge!?
Anyway, after thoroughly scolding them for their insolence, I got a 3k from them to test.
This is the new Flatline Audio "FL2". It's rated 3,000w @ 1ohm. They also have the FL1 that's their 2k. It's a great looking amp. Super clean. Not your normal layout. I like the low profile and that it's a little less long than most 3k's.
The board is different. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing, but I'll let the numbers speak for that quandary.
This is my only beef with this amp. Angled inputs. I've already voiced my opinion on them to the guys at Flatline and they've agreed to get custom inputs for anyone who doesn't care for the angles. I find that to be just awesome. Most companies would be like, "Suck it. Deal with it." Not these guys. Don't like the angled inputs? We'll throw in some custom dual inputs for free!
I spoke too soon... this my only other beef with this amp. It's only got one set of speaker terminals. Not a huge deal because a pair of 8awg leads is perfectly capable of carrying the power this amp makes. I'm just nitpicking. Daddy don't play favorites. It does make the look clean as shit. Not everyone has a need for all (4) terminals. It's also less to strip, so it just depends on what you need.
So, anyway... here's the vids. Maybe a little boring because it's just clamp vids.
This first one is double duty for the little single 10" throwdown with the Cadence 10". This is almost a whole DB louder than the Sundown 3k I had on this EXACT setup. 1 ohm nominal. Cadence 10.

Next is .5 nominal. Tantric HD10.

Lastly, the same exact torture test I put all of my amps through. .25 nominal on the HD10's.

And for anyone that can't see the vids or doesn't care to watch them, here's the numbers I got. Could be a little up or down depending on where you take them in the burp.
1,768w rising to 2.4
2,112w rising to 2.1
3,752 rising to 1.2
All of this is clean on the scope. I didn't bother showing you guys dirty results because that's for me to know and you to find out in the lanes
This amp makes great power on low voltage. It was actually louder than a DD M3a in the same test and not far off of the D5 and B2 Zero.5, so don't get too caught up in the clamp numbers.
As an aside, another completely unrelated clamp got 3,400ish rising to .9 @ 10v. 10 volts!!!
So... bottom line... Flatline Audio. Great amp here. T-Fade approved. And for the price, it's a great buy.
