So I've been wanting to get a bigger alt for a while now and after seeing the performance from speakerbox's Mike Singer alt I decided to order one. I told mike to just make the biggest alt he could in my case with an external regulator. He told he was able to make a 250a alt that will do 250a+ with higher voltage and does 170a at idle. After paying him he kept me updated on the progress of my alt and when it shipped. It only took about a week and a half from payment to receiving the alt and that's because he ran out of external regulators so he had to track one down for me.
Now unfortunately I was not able to install the alt before siknic but I did get it installed today. Everything works perfect but I wont be able to really put a load on it until this weekend. I set my voltage to 15.0v and that's where it sits at idle and drops back down to when I rev. Obviously it does jump up a little when I rev but the regulator bring it back down.
Mike is a great guy to deal with and I would recommend going with him for an alt to anyone.
And for some pics:
8g wires run to the regulator under my seat
Playing with the regulator a little
