Yes, look up it's conductivity... also, on the D3400 the clamps are connected only to the bolt, not the battery pad, but on the JB test he unscrews the bolt and connects the clamp where it can also contact the battery terminal pad. Still not a very good connection considering there was still a small amount of smoke on that test too.
