Default Mechman Alts FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm running a single Mechman Elite 370a. Ns1 wired to .66 full tilt, slight clip, cruising at about 2,000rpm, four D3100's, one D3400 up front, 6 runs of cca and two runs of tinned ofc. This is at night with all the lights on too.

I know it's not super exciting. But I'm damn impressed with this Alternator.

There's going to be spikes when the current draw drops off. It's unavoidable. Regulators don't act instantaneous.

This is internal too. It's only momentary. It's very common. Some voltmeters aren't fast enough to see the full spike.

I have to say I really like my Mechman alt too. It's only a 240amp but does very well. Where did you get that volt meter and is it too bright at night like the Stingers?

Speak for yourself, my elite doesn't spike like that. Your voltmeter looks pretty much like any other of those stinger ones with a bar around it. Does it have the adjustable pot inside too? I didn't trust mine except for long drawn out notes or 30 second park and pound so I used a multimeter on mine and never seen spikes like that. I know we always cheap out on voltmeter inside our rides cause quite frankly there just aren't many that refresh fast enough for our application.

Great, now my crappy 500 dollar dmm isn't good enough. Time for me to run a drop cord to the car and bring out my of o-scope.

Well I wouldn't be so dramatic but I use a fluke 28 and they run up to about 1600 and it isn't fast enough.......
