Default Sad excuse for a shirt trick

I gotta say I'm quite disappointed in my trucks ability to get some air moving

My civic with a single 12 was better

It is a huge cabin compared to the Civic though.
Have you ever done a cone area calc of the 2x18's in the big space vs. the single 12" in the small space?

how would you calculate that? I know the cone area of the subs but not in relation to the cabin space

Car companies do this to show how 'spacious' the cabin or leg room is.
The issue you may have (I'm not an expert, but what I saw watching and it seemed kind of the issue.) The small space if the civic cabin in relation to the 12 was less than the large cabin of the Tahoe vs 2 x 18's.
Saying if the Vd of the old setup / Civic cabin cubic space was greater than the Vd of the 2 bigger subs in a larger Tahoe space you may not be able to move as much air.
Maybe I'm or wish I was....

look up at Edmunds or other site and get cabin space specs.
Take those numbers and divide cone area in to each car cabin volume

I also thin that your because suv has more metal to resonate than the Civic there are more losses.

My prelude moved more air on less power than my toaster does with more sub and power.
The Prelude was rounded somewhat like your civic, while my toaster is long thin with straight panels.
Rounded objects are way stronger that flat like a lightbul, egg or even the windshield

I am thinking the strength from being rounded would mostly be from the outside of the curve and not inside...

It's all about that port velocity and your vehicles cabin and getting it just right.

My last wall 153db with 270" of port could hair trick better then my new wall 300" of port 157db...
