Default Crescendo Audio BC2000D

What's the amp draw for this amp? I have a 2010 Hyundai Elantra with the stock battery under the hood and a Optima YellowTop in the trunk, will this be enough to run this amp? Will I need more batteries? It's going to be wired to 1 ohm. The stock alternator is a 90 amp alt. I have an Excessive Amperage 220 amp alternator but I'm canning it for belt slip. If I need another alternator then which company is good and safe to go with? I'd prefer not to buy another high output alternator!

Keep in mind that you will also have your upper range speaker amp(s) to account for the draw, aswell as little things like the HU. It also depends on the nominal load you are wired at.

It may bea bit over 200a when you add other amps into the mix like a 2, 4chan, both, etc. Say you are only using a 2chan amp that does 50wrms x 2...As inefficient as A/B amp's are, you can be drawing around 20 amps from that amp alone, and perhaps 5amps from the HU for a vague example.

You always want to be "safe" and power your equipment properly so you will want to over generalize the power you will be needing.

This dosn't however mean that you need a total battery Amp-hour, and alt figure of about the max Amp draw. It dosn't work this way. (both ratings aren't car audio ratings, however you can use them if you know how to)

Personally I have an oldschool xtant amp that does about 75wrms x2 at the load its at, and I also have a bc2k awell at 1 ohm. For Electrical I have an XSpower D3400 added as a secondary batt and upgraded power wire under the hood(big 3), stock alt. It works fine.

Amps do not constantly do their rated output anyway it varies on your subwoofer/ box. Some boxes may be more power hungry like small boxes for instance.

If you want to try and test to see if you electrical is enough after you have your amp and setup going you can try playing it full tilt, or , as high as you generaqlly listen to it at, while having a DMM connected to your vehicles electrical. Pay attention to the voltage reading. While the vehicle is runing dipping in 11v range means you need an upgrade to your electrical, mid to low 12s is so so...and can be okay, but a flour of about 13.5-13.8 v is ideal for the bc2k IMO. 13.8 is where the amp is supposed to be for rated. Mine rests at 14 something, then it drops as far as about 13.5v.

well my bc2000d, on my stock 130alt, still dipped into low 12s on highs 50-70hz, thats with big 3 Kinetik hc2000 all 0 gauge. pretty much everything best for electrical without the alternator, so id say yes.

Full tilt, maximum amp draw is 195a @1ohm.
I would add one more rear battery and you should be fine and dandy for 1ohm daily non abusive use.

i love my BC2k was running it at 1 ohm with an Alpine 150.2, Optima YT G34 up front, big 3 and G31 YT in the back and full tilt i was 12.9 at idle and 13.5 at 1800rpm, starting i think at 13.8-9

Crescendo put together an amazing 2k man. Ive seen them do well, and Ive built 2 cars with them. Good choice on the amp! If you're looking for an alt, pm me for a quote. Sounds like adding an extra batt and doing the big 3 will be your most money efficient option right now, though!

Still love Singer alts, but due to lack of time with my current job, had to back out of forum rep. Sorry guys!
