Default Issues with my crescendo remote gain knob

Hey guys... I am having issues with my BC3500. I have recently been having a problem with the remote gain knob. I always turn my gain knob to the "min" point after I turn of the stereo so that I don't have earth shattering sounds when I start up my music again.

Recently, about a week ago I tried adjusting the knob and the sub output went slightly higher and then actually got lower as I continued turning the knob. It then went louder but not as loud as before and won't adjust anymore after let's say the halfway point on the gain knob. <<<--- Does that make sense?

What I've tried:
Made sure I was using the knob right and watched myself turning it. LOL
So, I tried disconnecting the cables and re-connecting. = same issue
Replaced the wire = same issue
Left gain knob disconnected on both ends for a few days = same issue
Reversed connections of remote gain knob = same issues

How can I get this fixed?

Do you have the remote with the clipping indicator?

After answering that, check your PM's

That is most likely going to be the fix.
Over time you can accumulate dust and debris. Accidentally spill some drink on it. Maybe even get some....well....what you do in your car is your business.

Have you tried removing the cover...I had a brand new bass knob and the cover came loose off of it...so I took it off and super glued it back on...works fine
