Default Need help!!! strapping crescendo bc3500s @.5

Hey whats up guys i own two crescendo bc3500s and two sundown zv3 18s. I will be switching up over the next couple weeks to four zv3 18"s in a flat wall in a 2002 jeep grand cherokee. Right now my amps are strapped at 1 ohm meaning each amp is running at .5 ohms, and on a 12v system. i love the way these amps don't get hot after long play times. Im kinda stuck because i no i will need more power for four 18"s but i wondering how much more power will my amps see if there were running at .25 and strapped at .5 ohms. Also how much more on a realistic scale would i see going from a 12v system to 16v system if i would continue to strap at 1 ohm. Any help is much appreciated.

i dont reccomend it either, it can be done.... however make sure you have a box rise that will allow amps to rise to a operating ohm load for those particular amps. Also, at that kind of ohm load you are definetly going to need more battery juice, your efficiancy will drop tremendously going from .5 to .25 ohm load. all i can tell you is that i have done this, and it can be bad if you do not do it right, amps will heat up and go into protect, or worse frying an amp, however the more battery power the better. on the 16 volts system question, it is a little more complicated than just putting 16 volts in a car i found it very hard to get everything to where my car would note see 16 volts. i ended up taking batteries back to store because it scared me lol. you can produce good numbers out of a 12 volt system but electrical is crucial when running extremely low impedance, VERY CRUCIAL

i wouldn't recommend strapping at .5 thats pretty low unless its a burp only setup.

if its a daily setup 16 volt might not be worth it.

why not just get two more 3500s or run two 5500s

Yea I was thinking bout getting two 5500s maybe . I mite try the two first and make my box bigger to supplement for power loss

My bc3500's are strapped to .25 but after my box rise I'm back at .5-ish. Its do-able.
