Default CZ Comps?

Anybody out there running a set of CZ comps out there? I am doing a budget SQ build and wanted to know how they stack up against the competition. I had a set of the old comps in my Audi but running my amp off the stock HU, I never really got to realize their full potential.

What makes the newer CZ comps better than the older ones? How do they sound? Compared to a set of CDT classic comps with the 25mm tweeters?

Thanks! Hoping to pick up a set of these in the near future!

I can not tell you about a comparison to the CDT.
I can tell you they are vastly improved over the CCX.
If you enjoyed the CCX, then the CZ will make you smile bigger.
If you really want a grin that will not go away, go for the Mezzo set.

I liked the CCX, but like I said I could not realize their full potential off my stock HU even though they were amped.

Basically, I am looking for strong midrange with bright highs. I liked the Highs of the CCX but the midrange was lacking...but that had more to do with the signal from my HU than the speakers IMO.

Save a little bit more and get the Mezzos. Then thank me later.

I fully understand that the Mezzos will outperform the CZ series but as I said I want to build an SQ stereo on a limited budget...not because I can't afford more, but I will only be driving this car a limited amount of time and don't want to drop too much into it.

I basically am looking for a comparo to the old comps and other comps in the same price point.

What specifically is better about the CZs than the previous model?

The tweeters and crossover are better.
The mids speaker terminals are stronger.
I can't say they will sound way better to you, but they do to me. It will depend on your install and settings.
