Default 2 ft1s w/2 crescendo crossovers?

Do I have to hook them up to an amp to make them sound nice?
Or can they be ran off the deck ?

I have mine ran off of the deck with the factory crossover points from my grand prix and I think they sound awesome, however I can't say how they'd sound with a medium sub stage or larger as I don't have one currently. However I can imagine they will keep up seem to be very efficient.

I dont have any exp with Crescendo Ft1s but ive dealt with Pro audio tweeters before, off the deck they should be fine, they are super efficient, but would sound a lil bit better IMO off a amp, just for some headroom and clarity.

Would it need to be an active amp?

No I didn't purchase the crossover my car runs components in the front from the factory there is a crossover but I have no idea where the actual crossover points are the only way you can run without the crossover would be with an active capable amp.

Naw just would need to be something that has a decent highpass crossover on it, the Crescendo crossover keeps the tweeter from playing too low and damaging it...I think the Crescendo crossover is at like 5k so its fine for those tweeters....but any amp that has a highpass crossover would work fine, doesnt have to be an active one.
