Talking Power hungry lvl5s???

Will be running 2 LVL5'S .7 reinforced surrounds carbon fiber dustcaps and extra stiff spider in my s10 blowthru 4rth order enclosure 3.5ft sealed and 12ft ported tuned to 43 hz daily and a 53hz burp port now need some suggestions on what amp to run with will be upgrading my electrical due to the power demands of the chosen amp what i had in mind was 2 3.ks, 5k ran at 18volt or 7.5k what do you think? thanks Josh

Well the electrical is really going to determine that...depending on what you do with voltage. Those should handle lots'o'powa for burps...on a 12v I wouldn't be afraid to throw 2 5K's on that setup if the box will allow the power handling. Or if you're going to 16-18v probably a 7.5K would do nice wired at .7!

a clean 3k power is the max you can run daily to any sub with a 3" coil.... I ran a level 5 18 in my demo/daily car last year with an 1100.1. Got about 8krms out of the amp at full tilt. I can run it for about 30 seconds before heat became a problem. I would imagine that all of you that are running a 9k or a 12k to 1 or 2 of them havent actually clamped power and figured out what your impedence rise is. I promise you even tho you have a 9k your getting no where near that kind of power out of it.

I sat in your car and it hurts ! I would listen to this guy , he's blown up tons of stuff and broke cars into pieces !

Thanks Lew! long time no see! brought my NW truck up from baltimore to compete at clydes halloween show... was hoping to see you your bro and maybe def j...... had a borrowed pair of level 5 18s and couldnt pull off the 160bc the cone started to fold (had the shitty cone on it)
