Default tough sub choice for my trunk...want some opinions

ive always run dual sub setups, NEVER a single sub but what do you think will take up less space, yield a better result and handle the power better between...

3-3.5k
2 12" lvl 4
2 12" lvl 4 with xl upgrade (dk if this will change my required box specs)
2 15" lvl 4
2 15" lvl 4 with xl upgrade (dk if this will change my required box specs)
1 18" xl

again, factors to think about are weight, required box space, and power handling...im leaning more towards 2 15 lvl 4 with xl (price dependant and if i can fit them)...never ran 15s so it be something new

How much airspace can you get in your trunk and what orientation for the port/sub(s)?

I love 2-12's set ups! If you can fit 2-15's though and still have enough trunk space to make you happy, then do that!! I've never had enough space to do 2-15's! You'll need at least 4.5-5 cubes!!

I agree..

I ran a single 18" DC lvl 4 for a while but since the box took up so much space it couldnt breath.. would of been louder if i was running a single 15 or 2 12's

Personally I dont like single sub set ups.. There's nothing wrong with them, I think it's just an OCD thing with me.. I have 2 15's in my trunk in about a 4.5 cube box, and kind of wish I had went with 2 12's instead.. My vote is for two 12's!
