Default How much abuse can a 15" lvl4xl take?

Just curious

I see that they are rated at 1500RMS. What kind of power are the 15" xl's actually taking?

ya the box is kinda big with a big port so that makes a huge difference too...

small box and small port you can throw tons of power at...

Wrate them at 1500 although most people I know run 2-2.5K per sub, its not nessisary though, the XL preforms great off of 1500 watts and If I used them I would probly use 1500 per sub for daily. The reason we rate them at 1500 is when you get into higher powered systems there are a lot of other factors that come into play, clean power, box size, port size, tuneing, and whatnot, all of those things can work for or against a subs power handling. Goes back to the age old car audio saying, "its all in the install"

mine are running on a sd8000.1 so they take alot of abuse. i just reconed them to 15's from 12's but the 12's took a ton of abuse, the only reason the were changed was i tore the spiders from being on 2-sd8000's
