Default Hooked up my 3.5k and not what it should be. . .

Do last night I connected my DC 3.5k that I just bought and hooked it up to my AQhdc3-10s. Wired at 1 ohm it just doesn't seem to be as loud as it should. What can I do? I set tge gain based on the clipping indicator on the bass knob @ 3/4 volume.

Lol. Same thing happened to me. Never impressed me enough to keep it. But that's neither here nor there.

I wouldn't put too much stock into that bass knob or especially that clipping indicator. The bass knob only goes to where the gain is set. So, set the gain without it and then use the knob as you please.

Or, my advice... throw that knob in the garbage and get a PAC.

Dont pay any attention to the bass knob clipping indicator. Get a DD1 and set you gain properly and ditch the bass knob for an LC1.

What he said. Wasnt gonna get into that yet but this is probably where your problem is. Just because you are wired to 1 ohm, doesnt mean you are going to get 3500w. Reactive ohm load and voltage play a big part. Also the box could be an issue as well.

Rusty why you no answer the phone?

Reactive is the actual ohm load that the amp is seeing while a signal is being applied to the subs. Have you ever heard of impedance rise?

well, the DD-1 is a device created in part by Steve Meade, to detect clipping/distortion.

reactive is rise including box rise...u may be wired to 1ohm...but it wouldnt be impossible to be at 3 or 4ohms (although a well-built box shouldnt be that high id think)
