Default How much would this cost (Broken Triple joint)

Okay, after talking to a buddy, he suggested that my triple joint might be going out in one of my dcs.

It's making this rattling noise (Sounds like it's knocking something) at high volume. I checked all the voice coils and they're all at .5 ohms.

It happens to be the one that wasn't reconed. It makes the noise at certain frequency...it's also hitting a little hard than the other sub (which is understandable considering the other sub has been reconed)

What would it cost to fix this? (another suggestion could be that the cone is rocking...but I don't think that is the case)

well the problem you're gonna have is the triple joint ring (if they have a ring) is below the spider. and basically in accessible while the sub is assembled.

try using wonder goo on the neck joint. it is white but dries clear and is flexible so you should be good to go. might stave off the cost of a recone for a while at least.

mine went once.. it played for a while (i wasnt easy on it )

but then the coil started to rub ...

your best bet is to do a complete recone to it ...

If you broke a triple joint, you need to go ahead and recone the sub. You also need to figure out what caused the joint to fail.
