Default lvl 5 question

Just curious why the level 5 doesn't have holes in the basket for the vc to breathe? Usually on all other subs I've seen you can see the vc. On the lvl 5 18's I just got there is no holes. I imagine dc engineered it that way for a reason, I'm just curious to what that is.

I see on the 12" basket there are holes to see the vc, but on the 18" one you cant. Here are some pics but not from me. DC Audio SPL Competition Subs [audiojunkies]

Yea at the bottom, right by the magnet. You would think this would cause the vc to heat up a lot.
