Default DC level 4 XL 10''

Does anyone, besides Rusty , have any experience with this woofer. I just built a box for it for my reg cab ranger ([email protected]). Rusty said he hasn't used one in that large of an enclosure yet...so I was wondering what size you guys use your 10'' xl in. Since my truck is so limited on space, it is easier to fit the larger enclosure with a tuning of 33-35hz than it is for a smaller enclosure with the same tuning. The only other option I have is to add some slugs to bring the volume down but then my tuning would jump to around 40hz. What do you guys think?

I just ordered the XL a couple days ago, so I don't have it in my possession yet.

Ok thanks Scott. I talked to one of the dealers from the Phillipines through a pm over on CA's forum and he said they like smaller enclosure with higher tunings. The larger enclosure should increase the efficiency, which is what I'm hoping for since I only have a Sundown 1500d for power.

Oh ya im getting the silver caps on mine!! Damn that looks good.
And i think this sub will do well in the 1.6 cubes you have, but i wouldnt be afraid to tune at 40-42Hz still. even for daily that sub will still go low and it will be louder.

Thanks for the advice. I think the silver caps look soooo good. I already have the pair of 3'' aeros cut from a couple previous builds, but I guess I could take a section out from the middle if I have to.

It didn't cost extra. Standard option I'm assuming....either blue, red, or chrome.

Here's a couple more crappy cell phone pics:

I put it in a box that wasn't in such good shape the other day. I'm assuming there was an airleak because the lows, although very loud, produced port noise....and the highs sounded very distorted and there was a "tapping" sound on the cone. I'm down at school now but I'll be going home in a week or two to build another box.
