Default 2x 18" XL BOX

I'm currently building my box going in my 98' Blazer for my 2 DC XL 18's. Im going to be running them off a DC 3.5K. Electrical is good. Im making the box around 15 cubes, ~10.5 after displacement. I wanted to tune it low, 28Hz is what I was hoping for. My current design tuned to 28Hz has a port thats 5"x28" ... so 150 in.^2 of port and 14.71 in.^2 port area per foot. I would make the port area larger but than making the port longer would make my net cubes dip below 10 and Ive heard that 18" XLs love 5-5.5 cubic feet when playing low. What do you guys think or recommend?

I'd say probably keep it right there. Thats 15 inches of port per cube. I usually follow the general rule of 14-16 sq inches of port per cube, always had goodluck with that with about 5 different boxes for lvl 4's/lvl 5 coils and my XL's i currently have.

if i were you i would do 2 15's, because 10.5 cubes after all disp is not much for 18's and not to even mention the fact that you dont have enough power for those subs. with that power you need to be looking for efficiency.

Well I read somewhere that Rob (thorshammer) told someone that they like 5-5.5 cubes if your tuning low. So thats what I was going for and I dont really have the room to go much bigger. I already ordered both 18's.
