Default Acheiving 40 sq in port.....

I know that the Ethos needs 1.5 cubes but in order to get the desired port area and sub displacement I seem to be coming up with 4 cu ft enclosures. Does this sound correct? I was trying to use as little space as possible, but it looks like I may need to rethink mounting the amps beside the enclosure and making it as long as possible to mount the amps on top.

63 inches of port?? I'm having a hard time finding room for 40, unless I do a labyrinth style. Then again this is my first attempt at understanding all this to design my own.

63inch port length not sq inches.

Ok here are my recommendation for a box that is 1.5 cuft net with 39sqin of port area tuned to 32hz. 26w by 14.5h by 18.5d Port 3w by 13h by 63Long. You got to figure how you want to set that port to equal 63 long

The problem I'm running into is the depth/height issue. I drive a Scion xB RS1 and I'm trying to keep from losing the rear seats. From the top of the seat back to the hatch is ~16 inches, and that's pressing against each other. I found that by removing the false floor I gain a few inches but only up to a certain height can it be more than 16" deep with the seat angle. 14" of depth will clear both the hatch and seat back top and bottom, but I can't seem to come up with the proper tuning with that depth. I'm going to take a closer look now that you shared these dimensions. It may be that 18.5 will clear at 14.5" height with the floor removed. Thanks for the #s man!

35sqin of port should be sufficient, also try getting 2cu net, That should help lower tuning aswell. helping with port length.

I have 37 inches between the wheel wells, however I do need to fit a Diehard Group 31 marine battery in there somewhere (6.75"w, but I just checked and can build something that will clear the hump to house that without cutting into 36" enclosure width). I was hoping to have the box on one side and the battery with the 2 amps mounted on racks above it on the other side. Now that I'm seeing that may not be possible I'm leaning towards mounting the amps on top or in front of the enclosure, which will take every inch I can spare being that they span the length of a yard stick (AQ200.2 & Q1-2200D). By removing the false floor it looks to be somewhere around the 21-22" height at the seat top/window line. I'm beginning to think mounting the amps in front of the box would be best.... out of sight and more room for height. 14" of depth would give me clearance from top to bottom keeping it within the floor housing and off the seat back. It also allows for a couple of inches between the hatch and box. I could do a slant box that would give me more depth at the base but without removing my current box and amps I don't know those dimensions off hand.
In a perfect situation, 36"w x 14"d x 18"h should allow me to accomplish everything if tuning could fall within those dimensions.
