I cant believe Im about to make this thread but Im day dreaming and now I want to try it.
My next build was going to be a TRF blacktop 18" in the trunk. 6cuft after all displacements tuned low.
But i have two baskets now, and access to a second motor. I can build whatever sub I need to. I have my suppliers setup.
So heres the thing. I want to keep this a straight trunk car. No cutting. And straight SPL. No music. Without Ts to go off of. What would be the least amount of airspace allowed for two 18s? Has anyone ran 3.5cuft per 18 before? Less Box rise. Insane amount of power at my disposable if I want. 6 Runs of Monster 400 series and as many batteries I can fit. My max dimensions possible in the vehicle is 36w x 17h x 34d. So 12.04cuft gross MAXIMUM. I would prefer 1.5" walls on all sides. And where the subs will mount make it 3" thick. or 4 layers of MDF. So after wood and port and sub displacement my absolute maximum air space per sub will be around 3.5cuft. .. 3 cuft would be better and easier.
Ive always ran a system where I can play music on, but at this stage in my car audio career I could care less. im looking for a 150 from the trunk at less than 35hz. I think I can get it, but I want massive amount of cone area as well as motor force.
I have the ability. Cost isnt a problem. But i want to have an opinion on if its even a reasonable build.
