Enclosure design help, 4th order

Will a 4th order for 4 SA 8s fit in this space? Im going to have to build this in my trunk, but is this enough room for it? Im talking to RAM designs about it and he says its about a cuft too small because of all the displacements. Im not sure I can make it much bigger, mainly because of the trunk hinges in my car.

I don't think thats enough space for a 4th order. Even with like a one to one ratio, after all the dispacements. I don't see enough space.

How much bigger does it need to be? Its my stupid trunk hinges that are getting in the way, otherwise I could get almost a whole extra cubic foot.

I was told I need 1.5 sealed and 2.5 ported, thats what other people seem to be doing as well. Around there.

I made it a bit bigger. Change the 42 1/2" to 43" and I made the height 12.5". Makes it 5.43ft^2 not taking into account material thickness (3/4")

I cant figure out how many cu ft that back section is with the slants.. I know how many it is not taking into account material thickness but cant figure it out when doing that. Help?

I know the box is around 4.0-4.1cuft after MDF displacement.

I may be able to make the 13 1/2" a bit longer.. I probably have another 2 inches, Im just concerned about the corners of the trunk not letting the box go all the way flush against the back. I'll check tomorrow in the daylight, I know I can do 14", if I could do 15" that would be better. Just going to 14" gives me an extra .15 cu ft..

How short am I?

If it was built as a sealed box with 3/4" wood it would come out to 3.94^ft before sub displacement. Sub displacement for 4 SA-8s is .4^ft

You could build one in them dimensions but another .5 to 1 cubic foot would be better.

If you want to go ahead and build it anyways, I can design one for you.

Did you include making it the whole box a half inch taller (12.5" instead of 12") and making that rear section 43" instead of 42 1/2"? You can change the 13 1/2" to 14" as well.

I use was in the picture, I was figuring it out before the other posts. I will take the new measurements from the pm and see what it comes out to.

It would come out to 4.29^ft, so another .35^ft than before.

I dont want to end up with a crappy 4th order, I want it to be an ideal box.
