Default Question about port up vs port back

I want to put some 18s in my blazer I have roughly 14 cubes to work with if I do port back subs up but if I do port up subs up I have about 16 cubes to work with my question is if I do port up subs up will that affect me moving hair

2 custom made 18s they are 2k rms they will get 4k rms also my truck is a 98 4 door if that helps

With only 2 18s i think you should be ok with subs up and port back. From what ive heard it is louder with port back then up. I am assuming you are going to build a box with about 6cuft for each sub that leaves you with 2cuft for displacement of subs and port. That will be pretty close depending where you tune it to. Might have to cut the box size down a little bit or look into using aero ports instead of slotted. With aero ports you could save internal cuft by putting the ports on outside of the box with a 90degree and fire at back drivers side.
Also, what is your goal daily or spl?

When firing back how much room do you have to the hatch? If its not very much then I would port up. Look into aeros to save on space.

About 5 inches I want to tune it to 30 hz

the prob with doing port back in those blazers is the back glass claps really bad ive heard of people cutting the latch ring from vibration. but it can be done pm ablemt he did it and he used a 12in aero if im not mistaken.

A 4 door has a better rear hatch and keep in mind mine has been abused for about 6 years now lol
