Default How close can a port end be to a wall?

I'm wanting to put an aero port on the same face as my sub but I'm not sure if I have enough depth. Can a aero port end be closer to a wall than its diameter? My port end would be 3" away for a 6" flared aero port. It would be in the center of a 20" deep box so it wouldn't be in a corner. Would this be choking the port??

I've always been told that it's supposed to be at least port diameter away from any wall...

that is correct. an aero port is still just a port and you want to be at least the diameter away.

I've seen people do 1/2 port diameter away from a wall with slot ports
But I'm sure having it atleast the diameter is ideal

it limits the excursion on overpowered applications when you place them 1/2 the diam away

I always like to keep around 'ports width/dia' away from a solid surface but a smidge closer wouldnt be the end of the world, I would try and keep it close to the port width/dia away tho...you can always experiment too, maybe your certain situation may perform better a certain way.

'Horn'-wall: 12.75 cubes net, ~25Hz tuning, 200 sq inches of port area (lowz..?)
