Default 2 18" Fourth Order build this weekend-Tips before build

Well I'm finally prepared to do a C-pillar wall in my 1995 Yukon, and I'm in search of any last minute pointers/tips before I start going at it on friday.

2 18 HDC3/PSI soft part subs
6K

I'm shooting for a peak in the 33/38hz range and I'd like a fairly flat response around 30-40hz. With the ability to still play stuff up to 45/50hz pretty loudly.

My max dimensions are 36x36x47 wide. Right now I'm planning on doubling up all walls and doing subs firing toward the drivers side with a slot port on the drivers side. 6/6.25 sealed into -+16cuft. Starting port area will be 275/280 inches of port in the 48/50 hz range, then shrinking it down a bit to get the low end I want out of it.

Here's my current idea

yes sir, ive build 3 decent size 4th orders in the last 3 weeks. everyone peaked 3 to 4hz lower than tuning. if you do an impedence sweep of the enclosure ull see why.

2 big factors of Bandwith is the qts of the drivers and the bandpass ratio. The Higher qts of sub the peaky it is and the higher the bandpass ratio makes it more peaky. So far I like the 2:1 on the higher qts drivers for music. On the lower qts drivers the bigger the ratio the better.

That's funny because I peak 5hz above my tuning. The peak is mostly vehicle / ratio dependent imo. I changed my tuning by 10hz and my peak freq went down 2hz. I changed my ratio from a 2:1 to a 1.67:1 and my peak dropped 7hz at the same tuning.

do a impedence sweep and ull see why. your sealed side has a resonance, basicly where your impedence is the highest. your port tuning is to far from your sealed resonance. ull know when you get near your sealed resonance because your spl will increase dramaticly.
