Default Quick aeroport question

Haven't used them before but I'm building a new box and would like to be able to switch the tuning around =p.

Anyways how do these things mount on the box? They look like they just sit in the hole..

I am beginning a build with aeroports, and I saw on the box calculator that the longer the aeroports, the lower the Hertz, so I am planning on using a PVC coupler and flaring the end of that out, and having a regular PVC coupler with a longer piece of PVC with a flare on that end for lower daily bass. So I will be able to put my seat up with the short higher tuned port for contests. I asked a couple people and they think it should work. I should patent this. LOL
At least click "thanks" if you like this idea.

the great thing i love about the aeroports is that in order to change tunning you just make them longer or shorter, which for a regular box without aeros, your stuck with a set hz range

There are holes to mount em on the end of the flare. That part of the flare is a little bit wider than the diameter of the hole.

What he said...and if the flares are homemade you just drill out a few holes around the outer lip of the flare to mount it to the box. Simple wood screws....

Awesome thanks, lol I figured they were screwed it lol. So basically I can make two ports say one for 40 hz and one for 33 hz, then all I have to do is unscrew and replace with the other? If it's that easy and aeroports use less volume, I have no close why everyone isn't using it lol..

Probably because price. When building a box you should already have the wood for a port. Aero's cost $

Didn't think about that. I suppose 90 percent of people don't care either. I see kids buying cheap boxes from pawn shops and local car audio stores all the time.
