Default S14 240sx 12" enclosure help

Hey,
This is my first time attempting an enclosure and this is what I have marked up. Would you great people of CACO please check my dimensions and tell me if I have derped anywhere or where I can improve?

My trunk is awkwardly spaced so I have a max usable space of 50" W x ~12" D x ~12"H; the box I've made is 30" x 11.5" x 12" (on the exterior)

It will be hosting a Sundown Z v.3 12" and am hoping for ~ 33Hz. I'm planning on making it out of 3/4 MDF.

Here are my dimensions for MDF pieces:
Base: 30" x 11.5"
Left side: 10"
Back: 30" x 11.25"
Right side: 10.75" x 11.25"
Inner port wall: 7.75" x 11.25"
Inner Supports (x2): 2" x 11.25"
Top: 30" x 11.5"

You won't be able to fit a 12" sub in that box. The over all width of the speaker is 12 5/8", so you need to go 13" high.
I also plug your numbers into my program and it's 1.2^ft tune around 59hz (after sub displacement)

Thanks. I'm way off I guess. I can't go any higher really. The only room I have to is wide.

hmm. anyone have any ideas on another design?

The 240 is a hatchback isn't it?

You may have to go with an angle / wedge box. I'll look at see if I can find some pics and see what others have done.

I started to design a forth order box for him, but he ended up doing something else.
Here is the diagram he had posted on the other trend.

He also said he could go another half an inch wider, deeper and higher. You should have room for 44"W x 14"D x 13" to 14"H (he went with 12"H to have more room for the air to go over the box)
Go take some measurements yourself and see what you can fit.

Here are a few others pics I found with 12"s in them. The 1st 2 pics still has the spare tire in there. The 3rd uses the spare tire well for the box.

Here is the box he had in there.

This box is 44"W x 11 1/2"D x 12"H

Thanks again.

I'd prefer to keep access to the spare tire.

I didn't think about reverse mounting the sub.

So of I expanded my current design to the right dimensions, should I be fine?

Sent from my phone.

Wow I thought I was the only one on the forums with that car.

We have the same car. Mine is a 95 w/ 22k miles.

I took my spare tire out, and have batteries down there. MDF floor built over it to flatten everything out.

Heres my latest idea..

Car Audio Classifieds

Almost 6 ft^3. Box will be built inside the trunk, and will be the WHOLE trunk. I will even have to make 2 spots in the box like slots/cutouts for the trunk hinges.

It will be loud though

The last box that bigdogjk has a picture of is the BIGGEST box you can fit into the trunk and still remove. I spent a long time getting those measurements correct, and I promise you cant fit anything bigger w/o building it inside the trunk.

You actually have more height than you think you do. If you stay far enough back from the trunk hinges (make sure to account for where they move up/down) you have 13+". If you dont believe me, climb in the trunk and have your friend shut you in there with a tape measure like I did. haha

Bigdogjk, do you have any input on my latest quest? To fit 6 SA 8s in a 4th order? Go check out my thread please. I started in google sketchup but not sure if what I did is OK or not, and I have some questions. Have you designed boxes for SA 8s before, or any 4th orders?
