Default NEEDZ help w/ goofy box recycle...

Idk how to figure out the volume of my box with these dimensions... (wedge box) 17-5/8"W x 12-1/4"H x 7-7/16"D1 x 5-3/4"D2

Hey my bro has a goofy little wedge box his friend gave him that housed a seized 10" shallowmount Sony Xplod... We are doing an extremely budget build in his CRX and I decided to adapt my Apex Jr. Super 8 to the prefab wedge box...

So far, I removed the sub and terminals, added a double layer adapter/baffle ontop of the existing baffle with the correct size mounting whole for the 8... I plugged the terminal whole with a 3/4" MDF block... (sub will be inverted)

But now I am considering removing the block and adding a round port... So I need to figure out the dimensions of the box so that I can figure out how to tune the port... if it's even worth doing.

I know this sounds super ghetto but it's a fun little project for my bro and I and it's helping him get excited about his car stereo system. Can someone run those dimensions real quick for me? Any and all advice/criticism is welcome. I know this is a lame install but I'm having lots of fun bonding w my brother with this so please try to keep the comments somewhat helpful lol

What are the dimensions? Could probably plug it into Torres to find out since it has depth 1 and depth 2. Could try it for ya and see what happens at least lol. Would need height, width, bottom depth and top depth.

17-5/8"W x 12-1/4"H x 7-7/16"D1 x 5-3/4"D2

First, find the average depth measurement:

7.44 + 5.75/2 = 6.6"

Converting the rest to decimal (because it's easier on my brain, lol)

W = 17.6
H = 12.25

and the average D from above =6.6

Multiply all of that together = 1423

Divide by 1728 = 0.82 ft^3

I rounded up or down a small amount. If those are outside dimensions, you need to subtract the thickness of the material to determine the inside dimensions. T tune to 40hz using a 3" diameter round port, the length would be about 12.5" long.

Edit: too late, lol

I need to learn this instead of just plugging numbers into a calculator lol...Math is by far greater than me! Was never one of my strong points and I'll be the first to admit it

lol thanks guys! so should I play it safe with sealed or try and port the enclosure? I am not sure how my modifications affected the dimensions of the box (terminal removal+inverted sub+ additional double baffle with a 7.25" cutout) lol really have to squeeze every ounce I can!

I would probably keep it sealed. If you want to port it, You can try a small port that's 12-15 inches long and run it along the length of the box, exiting the side. That should put you in the 38-45hz tuning range.
