Default 16 10's box dillema

I have 46w18h UP TO 58d. Initial thoughts are 4 6" aero's but can I fit 5? Wanna tune to 34hz with all 5, full length if only 4. Subs are SA-10's, 6" mounting depth. Can I fit slot? Need to get started on this as subs will be here shortly.

why so little port? and with 1 layer of .75 MDF the box volume is 24 cubes. ~2.4 is sub displacement. and that leaves 21.6, the 16 SA 10s minimum req ported is 1.25 which is 20 cubes, you you have bracing and port for basically 1.6 cubes...

just a quick question, no disrespect intended, did you plan this out? I mean asking if you can fit something when you already ordered subs makes me think otherwise...

Sorry, double layered everywhere with a flush mount. Original plan was the 4 6's which I might still go with. 16^[email protected] is what the idea was but I wanted a little more port IF I could fit it.

5 at 15in long seems to get you in the mid 16s with a 30 or 31hz tuning. only downfall is the 140 some odd sq in of port, but being flared in all i bet they will perform just fine. as far as fitting it... i dont know.

Lol 5 6's tuned to 30hz would need each aero to be 23" long. Aero's don't work like slot's, don't need as much port volume....also adding SA's don't need a ton of port. General rule is 12-16 for slots...60% of that for aero's so 7.2-9.6. No disrespect

how are you orienting the port/subs?

they fit with ease all facing up and port back. leaving about 12.5in from the back face and 14 front mounting location (on the outside). each sub was 1in from the sides (if measured to the gasket) and spaced at .5in apart long ways (58in) and .75 short ways (46in). this was with the full dimensions you posted.

i know how aeros work, i know they are more effiecient.

aero > PVC non flared > slot (in most cases).

edit: if you did full 18in tall and subs facing up, you would have about 10.5in between mags and the bottom to fit aeros through.

and you are right, they need to be ~22 or 23 long with the flare, i rechecked and had a miscalc.

with 1.5 all around you have the 20.5, the sub disp is 2.4, so 18.1, then 5 ports take up about 2 cubes, so you sit at 16.1, and 30hz with the ports being 22/23in long. WINNING!

The sub part is not the issue, it's the ports. 5 6" aero's have an outer diameter of 46.25 +/-....46 TOTAL width. Can I position the ports to allow for 5 or is 4 my max? BTW, 6" aero's only, no 8's or 10's

First of all, Your going to kill me if you keep saying they "Do" watts. They accept watts. Like your amp is the male, and your sub is the female. The girl just takes it. More power, the louder she is. Duh.

Each 10 is .1 displace...meaning 1.6 total.

46x18x57 1.5 and extra baffle and subs is 17.55. Minus ports at 17.2" each leaves 16.24. .24 can be used for bracing.

My main question was can I somehow fit 5 6" aero's back at 17.2" each?
